Service Description
August session dates include: 8/11 (Ch 1-9) 8/18 8/25 9/1 Come "hang" with your local faeries in this new, unique twist on 2 familiar activities - aerial yoga combined with a monthly adults-only book club! Enrich your mind and body as we take to the air in our silk hammocks for some low-impact stretching and decompression, all while sharing our weekly reflections on each month's community read. Based on community input, our upcoming reading selection for July will be: One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig "Elspeth needs a monster. The monster might be her. Elspeth Spindle needs more than luck to stay safe in the eerie, mist-locked kingdom she calls home—she needs a monster. She calls him the Nightmare, an ancient, mercurial spirit trapped in her head. He protects her. He keeps her secrets. But nothing comes for free, especially magic. When Elspeth meets a mysterious highwayman on the forest road, her life takes a drastic turn. Thrust into a world of shadow and deception, she joins a dangerous quest to cure the kingdom of the dark magic infecting it. Except the highwayman just so happens to be the King’s own nephew, Captain of the Destriers…and guilty of high treason. He and Elspeth have until Solstice to gather twelve Providence Cards—the keys to the cure. But as the stakes heighten and their undeniable attraction intensifies, Elspeth is forced to face her darkest secret yet: the Nightmare is slowly, darkly, taking over her mind. And she might not be able to stop him." It is the student's responsibility to obtain a copy of the selected reading material, and they may choose any preferred format (physical copy, digital download i.e. e-reader, audiobook, etc.) Copies of the book are available at most public libraries and major retailers. All students who register will receive a communication from the instructor a minimum of (5) days prior to the start of the class session with the voted upon reading selection, as well as the first week's chapter benchmark. You do NOT need to have previously read the book in order to join in for some magical aerial yoga hangs; open to those who are familiar with the reading material AND for those who are brand new! Movement instruction will be provided during class - our flow is not intense, but rather mindfully designed for accessibility as well as ease of conversation. Aerial yoga is inclusive of all bodies and identities <3 NOTE: This class is limited to ages 18+ due to the mature nature of some themes.
